Half-Man, Half-Machine, All Awesome

The About Page

Your average 22-year-old cyborg from the suburban Philadelphia area. Graduated from Ithaca College with a journalism degree, and interested in pursuing a career in television news production.

I use a motorized wheelchair due to being born with tetraphocomelia, which roughly means deformities in all four limbs. I was born without properly formed hands, and I’m lacking in legs.

I’m interested in video games, comics, science fiction, politics, and stand-up comedy, which I started doing in late 2007. (“Haha, don’t you mean sit-down comedy?” No. No I do not.)

What you can expect from this blog is news, commentary, the occasional rant… and other stuff, mostly having to do with disabilities. I’m tired of the disabled population being such a silent minority. I’m not saying I want to be a voice for the entire population, because that’s arrogant and impossible, but I want to be a voice for me, and hopefully help give others a voice.

I run another blog with my fiancée Chrissy over at KittyButts, which is more a place where we blog about music, movies, TV, and whatever we feel like updating at the time. You can also find me over on Twitter, @VoltjanStevens.

I hope you enjoy the blog.
